The Central Social Welfare Board in co-operation with the State Social Welfare Advisory Board organized Family Counselling Centre in every state through different voluntary organizations. The main objective of the centre is to decrease family breakdown, to prevent women exploitation and to decrease the matrimonial cases in the court. 

The Family Counselling Centre started at our organization from September 1986 with an aspiration that is to rely more on counseling, goodwill, understanding and negotiation.  Since inception, two thousand four hundred eighty (2480) have been registered in the centre.  During the reporting year, two hundred five (205) and ninety three (93) pending cases have been dealt. Among them one hundred twenty two (122) new and ninety (90) old/pending cases have been settled.

Other Activities

The centre organized eight (8) Mohalla Meetings and ten (10) awareness programmes in different areas of Bolpur Sub Division, Birbhum.  The senior Counsellor attended every valedictory programmes of Anganwadi centre. In these programmes the Counsellor discussed about the prevention of child marriage, effect of gender discrimination, role of women and men in the family, how to maintain a family, improtant legislations.

In spite of that, the staff of the centre always actively participated in the different programmes of other projects of the organization to achieve the goal of the centre.
